The Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico, is one of the most visited Catholic places in the world after the Basilica of San Pedro in Rome, Italy.
The image embodied in the ayate (maguey thread cloth) of "Juan Diego" (an indigenous person to whom the Virgin appeared for the first time), was found in 1531, when it became a symbol of the devotion of a country.
The "Virgin of Guadalupe" is the standard bearer of peasants, workers, indigenous people and all those who place their faith in her.
